BET's beloved music video countdown "106 & Park" got the ultimate tribute during the 2025 BET Awards.
On Monday night, June 9, past host Keshia Chanté kicked off the performance with Ashanti, who was the first artist to have a video retired from the iconic show. The former Murder Inc. singer performed a rare melody of her hits "Happy" and "Foolish." After Ashanti disappeared behind the crowd of 106 & Park fans, Jim Jones turned the stage into a nightclub while performing his classic "Ballin'" followed by Amerie, who recreated her memorable dance routine from her "1 Thing" music video.
Later, Terrence J pulled up to introduce more artists like Keyshia Cole, who performed her hit "Should Have Cheated" along with the crowd onstage. Soon after, the lovely Mya came out and belted out her 2000 hit "Case of the Ex" with a nostalgic dance routine. Midway through the tribute, Julissa Bermudez and Big Tigger hit the stage to introduce T.I. before he shut down the stage with a medley of his 2004 banger "Bring Em Out" and his 2006 hit "What You Know."
The legendary Free took the stage (without her co-host AJ Calloway) and took us back to the early days of "106 & Park." She kept the nostalgia going by bringing out all four members of B2K for a stunning reunion. Omarion, Lil Fizz, Raz B and J-Boog delivered their smash hit "Bump, Bump, Bump" with Fizz rapping Diddy's verse on the song.
Of course, the tribute wouldn't have been complete without a performance from Mr. 106 & Park himself, Bow Wow. The Millennium Tour headliner gave fans a medley of his hits like "Take Ya Home" and "Like You." He wrapped up the tribute by bringing out his old friend Jermaine Dupri to perform "Fresh Azimiz."
The legacy of "106 & Park" will live on through the show's impact, its hosts and iconic performers. After the tribute ended, Cam Newton and Ashley Nicole Moss announced that they will host a new sports show inspired by "106 & Park" called "106 & Sports." The show will debut this fall on BET.
